Essential Oil blend for Colic and Digestive support
Ingredients: Anethole, Artemisia dracunculus, Carum Carvi, Copaifera reticulata balsam, Coriandrum sativum, Foeniculum, Illicium verum, Mentha piperita, Mentol and Zingiver officinale root.
Anethole and Artemisia Dracunculus oils are both known for the flavours of licorice, well documented as calming an upset digestive system. Carum Carvi oil is documented as relieving flatulence and bloating and mild spasms, and Copaifera Reticulata Balsam oil improved digestion and is a diuretic. We include Coriandrum Sativum and Foeniculum oils in our blend for their benefits of reducing gas, and Illicium Verum Fruit oil is harvested from southwest China and is the major source of Shikimic acid, a primary pre-curser to the pharmaceutical synthesis of the anti-influenza drug, Tamiflu. Metha piperita and Menthol has been documented for centuries for its ability to ease nausea, decrease aching and provide stomach relief, and Zingiber officinale root oil is commonly known as Ginger, one of nature's more potent digestive-distress relieves. Use with a carrier oil and apply along the belly or add 2-3 drops sublingually. If you suspect colic in your horse call your vet immediately.
